According to the recall notice, the plastic fuel tank may crack, allowing fuel to leak into the enclosed hull of the craft, which is a fire hazard. All of the units were supplied by American Honda Motor Co. Inc. All of the affected models, says the ACCC, should be inspected and, if necessary, have a new tank installed by an authorized Honda dealer. In total 54,837 models built between 2001 and 2007 are affected by the recall. At the time of publish, the Consumer Product Safety Commission in the United States has not issued a matching recall notice.
