Inside Yamaha’s 2010 VX Deluxe Jeff Hemmel February 25, 2010 Shares Comments Videos A video tour of the best selling PWC in the industryYamaha’s VX series includes the best-selling personal watercraft in the industry. Introductory models that combine Yamaha’s compact 1052cc, four-cylinder engine under the seat with a progressive-V hull design, the VX series instantly captured the #1 slot upon introduction. Since then, they have continued to be the best-selling models, with the VX Deluxe and VX Cruiser trading top honors year after year. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it? Yamaha apparently disagrees, for in 2010 the company has opted for change. You won’t notice it at first glance. Most of the changes are minimal, tweaks in rider ergonomics or subtle changes below the waterline. The end result, however, is a craft that Yamaha claims to be more comfortable for the driver, and displays a more playful feeling on the water. Yamaha’s Mike Ricciardi recently walked us through the changes during the 2010 Miami Boat Show. Look for our own on-the-water evaluation coming soon.
