Waverunner sinking, and parts rusting; told by Yamaha its designed that way!

I had the EXACT same issue as the other reviewer. Hose clamps rusting. Called Yamaha, they said it is an "entry level" ski, and basically that is what I get. To change out the hose clamps you have to remove the entire engine!

I bought 2 in June 2008. I live in Florida and use my waverunners in salt water. I called Yamaha in May 2010 to complain that all of the hose clamps are rusted because they failed to use stainless steel clamps. I'm surprised at the other two reviews. I've owned my ski for a couple of years and had absolutely no problem. I have friends with Seadoos and they are always in the shop! Great ski in my opinion. Read Full Review

No problems with mine, ever! Keep in mind I only use them in fresh water, garaged, and only have about 85 hours on it (2008). Treated them pretty gentle, but I will look into the hose clamps now that you mention it. Read Full Review

Have 2 VX and 2 FX 2008, all done more then 400hrs. all in salt water. Yes hose clamps are rusty and I replaced all 42 on one ski. So what. Best ski ever. No problems with all these hrs. and years.
