Slippery redesigns Matrix line PersonalWatercraft.com March 13, 2008April 29, 2016 Shares Comments PhotosVideos Wetsuit features lightest neoprene available, other new featuresSlippery Wetsuits of El Cajon, Calif. has launched its 2008 product line, featuring a few completely redesigned items that are worth checking out. Slippery went back to the drawing board with its Matrix combo suit, which is its top of the line wetsuit. According to the company, the Matrix combo suit is made of the lightest, most flexible neoprene available on the market. “It’s 20% lighter than your average neoprene and it stretches eight times its normal width, so you’re really comfortable,” Slippery’s Alan Vespe told PersonalWatercraft.com. “It also comes with a silk outer jersey and inner jersey on it, so it has a really soft feel against the skin.” Besides the new neoprene, the Matrix jacket has also been redesigned for 2008. Slippery has lengthened the jacket so it can be worn with a pair of swim trunks in warmer weather or over the wetsuit in colder weather. The Matrix combo suit, which includes the jacket, retails for US$209 and is available in black, blue and red. Slippery has also designed a new Matrix side entry neo vest, which the company says provides really easy on/off access. “They have a front hinge, so when you’re bending over a lot it’s a really comfortable and really mobile vest,” says Vespe. Vespe says customers were asking for a vest that was easier to tighten, easy to get on and off and stayed comfortable. The vest retails for $79 and is available in the same colors as the Matrix combo suit. Another item Slippery has redesigned is its Reform neo vest. “We’ve added a V-back to it, so it gives you more of a custom fit,” says Vespe. “It’s a really flexible approach.” According to Slippery, the form-fitting pattern virtually eliminated chafing while allowing maximum rider mobility. Retailing for $69, the Reform neo vest is available in black, red, yellow and blue.
