Sea-Doo RXT-X honored by magazine

Powerful craft wins Waterbike Shootout

Boating Magazine named the new Sea Doo RXT-X the winner of the 2008 Waterbike Shootout.

Boating Magazine is the largest recreational boating publication in North America and recently conducted a head-to-head comparison with the flagship watercraft from the leading brands in the watercraft industry.

The article ‘Quake at the Lake’ appears in the June 2008 issue of Boating Magazine and pits the new Sea Doo RXT-X against the Yamaha SHO and Kawasaki Ultra 250 in a variety of tests and evaluations to determine which watercraft delivers the greatest on-water performance.

The Shootout compares each model in areas of performance, ride experience and individual details and features. The race inspired RXT-X impressed the editors with unparallel performance and topping the fun-factor.

The Sea-Doo RXT-X posted the quickest acceleration, bettering the nearest competitor by 25% in the 0-30mph comparison test with a time of 1.53 seconds and nearly a full second faster from 0-60 mph than the others at 4.74 seconds.

Sea-Doo’s RXT-X earned high marks for ‘ride experience’. Boating Magazine described the Sea-Doo saying, “If it had wheels, you could paint the RXT-X red and slap a Ducati sticker on the cowl. Response to steering input is intuitive and predictable. In the buoy course we were fast right away, no learning curve. You just sit and steer, and it goes where you point it.”
