Eight world class athletes paired with eight celebrities and competed in a wide variety of athletic competitions. The event took place at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas with the Sea-Doo competition challenging the all-star teams in a head-to-head battle on the blue waters of Paradise Island.
The teams competed in events such as swimming, bicycle races, rock climbing, and kayak races among others, with one team being eliminated each week following the signature event, the Superstars Obstacle Course, leaving the last team standing as the winners.
Sportscaster John Saunders and NFL Pro-Bowler and Sea-Doo watercraft enthusiast Warren Sapp call the action.
The SUPERSTAR Teams are:
NFL star Terrel Owens/Actress Joanna Krupa
Miss USA Ali Landry/ MLB MVP Jeff Kent
Actress Estella Warren/ NBA star Robert Horry
"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" star Paige Hemmis/ Olympian Skier Bode Miller
Actor David Charvet/Former #1 Tennis star Jennifer Capriati
Actor Dan Cortese/ WNBA Star Lisa Leslie
Singer Julio Iglesias Jr./ World Cup Soccer Star Brandi Chastain
"Dancing With The Stars" performer Maksim Chmerkovskiy/ X-Games Skier Kristen Leskinen.

In the Sea-Doo Challenge event, the teams competed on identical Sea-Doo RXT iS watercraft on side-by-side buoy courses. Each team member completed one lap with the first team to complete the two-lap event winning their race. To fully integrate the team aspect a pit stop was built in between laps to change riders; made possible due to the exclusive on-water braking capability of the new RXT iS with intelligent Brake & Reverse.
The Sea-Doo Challenge was conducted from the beach with the first rider from each team starting in neutral. Upon the shotgun start they charged through their respective buoy courses and came back through the finish, applying the brake, then coasting into their marked pit box. Once stopped, rider number one ran up the beach and passed the Sea-Doo DESS lanyard emulating a baton to their teammate. The second rider then ran down the beach, mounted the watercraft and completed the second lap.
The six-show series began on June 23 on ABC and runs Tuesday nights at 8pm. The Sea-Doo Challenge event takes place in the fifth episode, which airs July 21.
