STX 1100 help please

Question 1 = I have a 98 STX1100 I bought last weekend. We cranked it on the trailer when I bought it but for just a second with no water. Today im running it with water. The jet pump is squirting water out but my question is, whats the little black water fitting on the right side of the hull up front. Thanks guys.

Answer to my own question 1 = I found out its a Tattle Tail. Question is water goes up to the solenoid valve but not thru it. Can someone tell me why. I checked power with the key on and no power on the 2 wires that go to it.


Question 2 = Also when I crank the Ski it runs good. From somewhere and im guessing under the manifold there is water leaking into the hull. After i shut it off with the water turned off of course about a few seconds later I can hear water dripping under the manifold. Is this normal. Thanks again guys im just so close to taking it out I wanna make sure all is ok. This may be due to me running it on the trailer but I have no clue.
